Thank you for your interest in the South Central Industrial Association.
SCIA is committed to supporting industrial businesses and the communities that we serve through improving the business climate of south central Louisiana and energy related industries. It is a multi-parish organization, representing primarily Terrebonne, Lafourche, Assumption and St. Mary parishes. However, we do have members from across the state.
SCIA has a current membership of approximately 250 member firms, representing over 200,000 employees, many of whom are engaged in servicing the oil, gas and marine operations in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and around the world.
We are here to insure our member companies have the best possible representation on legislative issues, workforce development, human resource & environmental issues, as well as, infrastructure planning of roads, bridges and ports, coastal restoration and flood protection for the entire region. We are a unified and powerful force for our member companies.
Our annual golf tournament is held the first Monday in October at Ellendale Country Club in Houma, LA. The tournament has a long history of success, which is a primary fundraiser that helps to support such programs related to workforce development, LA 1 Coalition, 1-49 Coalition South, Restore or Retreat, Nicholls, Fletcher, and SCLTC
We provide several college scholarships each year to employees’ children of a member companies.
Held in June at The Cypress Columns, 157 Tourist Drive, Gray, LA (off Hwy 90), our annual banquet is a highlight of each year’s activities that introduces and installs our new officers. It is also a fundraising event to assist with supporting our many projects.
Our annual crawfish boil is always held the Thursday after Easter under the Buquet Pavilion at Southdown Plantation in Houma, LA and is attended by well over 600 people. This has become an excellent event to network with customers.
Our monthly luncheon meetings are currently being held at the Courtyard by Marriott, Houma, LA on the third Tuesday of every month, except for June. We average from 150 to 200 people at each meeting. RSVP is required. The cost of the meal is $28.00 per person. Prior to the membership meeting, we take time for “networking,” from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The membership meeting begins promptly at 11:45 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m.
